On the evening of Dec. 2nd, Wang Wentao, member of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, met Mr. Phupinder Gill, CEO of Chicago Mercantile Exchange, et al. at Shandong Hotel.

At the meeting, Wang Wentao said, “Chicago Mercantile Exchange is a world-renowned commercial trading agency, and is famous for future goods and financial derivatives of future goods. Shandong is a large economic and cultural province, which not only ranks top in economic aggregate, but also occupies an important position in agriculture and mining, thereby, having the basis for building a financial factor market. As the capital of Shandong, Jinan has the condition of bearing the financial factor market. At present, Jinan is propelling the goal of ‘Building Four Centers, Constructing a Modern Spring City’ and making efforts to build a regional finance center. I hope that we can establish a specialized contact channel with Chicago Mercantile Exchange to promote our cooperation.”

Mr. Phupinder Gill said, “The cooperation between Chicago Mercantile Exchange and China is increasing frequently. We look forward to seeking wider cooperation opportunities with Jinan, Shandong.”
